Terms of sale
Last updated: 2026-10-16
These are the terms on which LessonScriber is sold. They are meant to be read, so they are short, and everything in them is something that actually happens.
Who you are buying from
The service is provided by the sole trader behind LessonScriber, in Ireland. The registered name and address are published here as soon as registration completes — and before any payment is taken, which is why nothing is for sale yet.
Payments are handled by Paddle, who are the seller of record. Your receipt and your invoice come from them, and your card details never reach us.
What you are buying
Hours. A plan gives you a number of hours of recording each month, and we turn those recordings into typeset books.
| Plan | Each month | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 15 hours | $15 |
| Regular | 30 hours | $24.99 |
| Advanced | 65 hours | $49.99 |
| Institute | 140 hours | $99 |
A yearly plan gives you twelve months' hours for ten months' price — $150, $249, $499 and $990 — granted in full on the day you pay.
An hour means an hour of recording, measured from the audio you send. Joining books you already have into one volume costs nothing.
Your hours, and when each kind runs out
You may hold up to four kinds of hours at once. They are spent in this order — always the ones that expire soonest first — and your account shows each of them separately.
- This month's hours. They expire at the end of the month.
- Hours carried over from last month. Whatever you did not use rolls into the next month and no further: one month, then gone.
- Yearly plan hours, if you bought a yearly plan. They expire on the date shown in your account, a year from when you bought the plan.
- Credits. These never expire.
So someone on Regular who used 20 of his 30 hours last month starts this month with 30 fresh hours and the 10 he did not use — and if he does not use those 10 this month, they go.
If you change plan mid-year, the hours you have already paid for stay yours.
What we promise
The book is faithful to the recording. Nothing is reworded. Verses are checked against the mushaf. The matn is kept apart from the sharh. Every paragraph can be traced back to the second it was said.
You are told where it is uncertain. Each book comes with a report: how much of the recording was unclear, which passages could not be traced, which verses were verified. We would rather tell you a passage is doubtful than guess convincingly.
Every book comes as a PDF and as an editable Word file.
What we do not promise
The transcription is done by machine, and machines misread words. We do not promise a perfect book; we promise a faithful one, and a report telling you where to look.
A book is a record of what was said, not an authorised edition. It has not been reviewed or approved by the speaker, and it must not be presented as though it had been.
We do not promise a particular turnaround. Most books are ready in minutes; a long recording takes longer.
What you promise us
That you are entitled to upload the recordings you send, and to have a book made from them.
What you then do with your book is your own affair — study it, print it, use it in your institute, give it to your students. We ask only that you do not publish it in a way that suggests the speaker checked or approved it, because he did not.
Your books are yours
We claim nothing over them. We do not use your recordings or your books to train any model, and we do not show them to anyone.
The recording itself is deleted seven days after your book is made. Your book stays until you delete it. The privacy page sets this out in full.
When a job fails
If a book fails to be produced, the hours go back automatically, to the same balance they came from, and we email you to say so. You do not have to ask.
This is capped at three refunded failures per account per month. Past that, something is wrong that returning hours will not fix, and we would rather you wrote to us.
Cancelling, and refunds
Cancel whenever you like, from your account. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew. Nothing is charged afterwards, and we do not charge a fee for leaving.
Within thirty days of your first payment on a plan, you may cancel and have your money back, less the hours you have used, charged at the price you paid for them. After thirty days a plan is not refunded, and the window applies to a first payment rather than to each renewal — a renewal you cancel before it happens. The refunds page sets this out with examples.
If we ever close the service, we will tell you before it happens and give back what you have paid for and not received — a yearly plan in proportion to the months left on it, whatever the thirty days say. You would be out of something you had paid for through no fault of yours, and a date in a policy is not a reason to keep the money.
We never charge interest, late fees or penalties of any kind, and no pay-later or instalment credit is offered at our checkout.
If these terms change
We will change this page from time to time — a new feature, a clearer wording, something the law requires. When a change affects what you have bought, we will email you before it takes effect and you may cancel if you do not want it. Small corrections that take nothing away from you we will simply make, and the date at the top will show when.
What you will never find here is a line saying we may change these terms whenever we like. The price and the hours you signed up on stay yours until you choose to change them.
Law
These terms are governed by Irish law. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under Irish or EU law.
